Edward Gorey famously loved animals, which populate much of his art and whose welfare he championed through a variety of causes. As stipulated by Gorey in his will, the Edward Gorey Charitable Trust continues to support these causes through local and national organizations.

Income from all commercial collaborations with the Trust currently benefits organizations including Bat Conservation International, the Xerces Society for Invertebrate Conservation, the Animal Rescue League of Boston, and various others.
